Tips and Tricks

Blackheads – do you also struggle with blackheads? Are you also that teenager where you wish to have skin which is crystal clear and cannot because of blackheads? Blackheads can be very irritating at a time when we wish for clear skin. I myself have faced this issue for a long period of time where I wished for clear skin, but blackheads would be made it worst. Then I followed a few steps every day that minimized my growth of blackheads, and I could finally see the difference in my face. If u want to know what routine I followed, continue reading the article.

What Are Blackheads?

Despite their appearance, blackheads have nothing to do with dirty skin. Rather, blackheads (also called comedones or comedones) are a type of clogged pore. They can appear alone or together with acne. Blackheads form when dead skin cells, excess sebum, and dirt build up in the pore. Once this mixture reaches the pore openings on the skin’s surface, it oxidizes and turns black. Blackheads often appear in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin), especially around the nose, because there are more hair follicles and oil production here than elsewhere on the face.

What Is The Difference Amid Blackheads And Pimples?

Both pimples and blackheads are caused by clogged pores. They occur when a hair follicle becomes clogged with sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria. When the follicle is completely closed, a pimple develops. Sebum and dirt cannot get out, which is why a pimple is usually larger than a blackhead. When pores are clogged but not completely closed, sebum and dead skin cells in the pore can rise to the external of the skin. When sebum comes into contact with air, it oxidizes and turns black. This black dot is a blackhead.

What To Do With Blackheads?

When it comes to blackheads, prevention is the best antidote. With a simple 3-step skin care routine, you can keep your skin healthy and prevent blackheads.

Cleansing: Use a mild, water-soluble cleanser to remove dirt, makeup and excess sebum from the skin’s surface.

Exfoliate: Use a well-formulated BHA exfoliant. Exfoliating with salicylic acid (BHA) even removes dead skin cells from your pores and prevents them from clogging.

Moisturize: Every day, use a well-formulated day cream (with a minimum of SPF 30) and a night cream that suits your skin type. When your skin is in balance, it prevents excess sebum production.

Tea Tree Oil Against Blemishes

Another home remedy for pimplesand blackheads is tea tree oil. Use a cotton pad to apply a small amount to your blemishes. But beware: tea tree oil dries out the skin extremely, which is why you should not use it too often and care for your skin with a cream after use.

Effect: The oil obtained from the leaves of the tea tree contains antimicrobial agents that stop the growth of bacteria and thus counteract the formation of impurities. Since tea tree oil can also cause skin irritation in large quantities,  mix the oil into your face cream in small quantities.

Steam Bath Against Impurities

A steam bath also helps against blackheads. Simply heat two liters of water in a big pot and add chamomile (e.g. chamomile tea). Then put your face over the pot and place a tea towel over it to keep the steam in. Hold your face over the hot water for 15 minutes.

Effect: The steam opens your pores and they are “flushed out” in a natural way: sebum and other dirt are combated, your skin is supplied with blood and impurities disappear. Since a steam bath can dry out the skin, you should apply lotion thoroughly afterwards.

Exfoliation With Lemon Juice

In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoonful salt, 1 teaspoon warm water, and 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice. Then apply the mixture to the blackheads and acupressure  the scrub into the skin in circular motions with a warm, damp washcloth for five minutes. Then leave it on for another five minutes and wash off with cold water. You repeat the whole procedure several times a week until the blackheads are gone.

lemon juice mask

Lemon juice can also be used as a mask with yogurt: mix lemon juice with plain yogurt, honey and salt and apply the paste to your face like a mask. Rest the mask on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off thoroughly.

Effect: Due to its antibacterial effect, salt cleanses the skin and opens the pores. Lemon juice contains acid that also kills germs and bacteria. Both ingredients also have slightly exfoliating properties. The warm water opens the pores and yoghurt supplies the skin with important nutrients.

Caution! How To Make Blackheads Worse

Too much care: Don’t overdo it with facial care. Excessive peeling and the use of alcohol-based cleaning agents remove the skin’s natural protective layer. Creams that are too rich can also aggravate impure skin because they clog the pores.

Wrong home remedies: Toothpaste in particular is still trade as a popular anti-pimple home remedy. But the substances it contains irritate the skin and can only aggravate blackheads and pimples. Vegetable oils such as olive oil also do more damage to blackheads than they help. They clog the pores and promote pimple formation. hands off it!

Squeezing pimples: Even if it is sometimes difficult – you should leave the squeezing out of pimples to a beautician. By incorrectly squeezing the inflamed area, you can damage the follicle wall or push the bacteria deeper into the skin. This can lead to painful inflammation and, in the worst case, unsightly scars. eyesight
